Max on Life by Max Lucado

Max deals with some of the most difficult questions dealing with life and Christianity in this handy little volume. He gives each answer a brief (1-2 pages) and informative response. There are 172 questions from a wide variety of topics such as hope, grace, conflict, prayer, scripture, sex, romance, family, work, money, heaven, and hell. If you have questions or don’t have answers, this may be the book for you.

I enjoyed the book. I especially appreciate the format of the writing. By numbering the questions and keeping the answers brief, the author makes it easy for me to decide what I want to read and what I want to skip. The grouping of the questions will make it easy to come back to this book and use it as a resource when I am faced with the difficult questions that life often throws our way. The one downside to this style is the simple fact that many of these questions need more than a brief answer, but Mr. Lucado gives a good launching pad.

I would recommend the book with one caveat: I don’t agree with all of Mr. Lucado’s answers. But, as the saying goes, eat the meat and spit out the bones. Enjoy!
