Story. Joke. Lesson.

A Story:

It was one of the most painful things that I had ever experienced. Let me give you some background. I was always one of the bigger kids in school, but I was never the biggest. That title was reserved for a guy known in those days as “Hoss.” I’m not sure where he got the nickname, but it suited him well. He was a force to be reckoned with on the football field, the baseball field, and even the basketball court. You see, Hoss wasn’t just the biggest, he was athletic, and he was extremely cool. He was so cool that I thought that I had finally made it to the ‘in’ crowd when he invited me to come over to his house. That’s were it happened…

A Joke:

A young boy enters a barber shop and the barber whispers to his customer, “This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it to you.” The barber puts a dollar bill in one hand and two quarters in the other, then calls the boy over and asks, “Which do you want, son?” The boy takes the quarters and leaves. “What did I tell you?” said the barber. “That kid never learns!” Later, when the customer leaves, he sees the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store. “Hey, son! May I ask you a question? Why did you take the quarters instead of the dollar bill?” The boy licked his cone and replied…

A Lesson:

Finish what you…

“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14
