Three years ago, I had the life changing opportunity to join with a group of young people from all over North America to travel to Ghana, West Africa and experience the ministry of foreign missions first hand. We went with the United Pentecostal Church, International’s Next Steps Program. The Next Steps program was designed for those who think they may have an interest in foreign missions but aren’t quite ready for a longer term Associate In Missions (AIM) appointment.
I had always said that I would never want to be overseas for an extended period of time, but that all changed while in Ghana during the summer of 2007. I was overwhelmed by the kindness of Ghana’s people. I was challenged by their worship. I was convicted by their sacrifice. I was burdened with a love for the people and a desire to preach the Gospel to every hungry soul. When I boarded the plane to return home, a small part of me knew that, one day, I would return.
It is time to go back! I am very excited to announce that I have been accepted for an AIM appointment to Ghana beginning in January, 2011 and I will be staying for six months. (More Info on Missions)
Until then, I will be evangelizing full-time. I am very excited about this opportunity and I covet your prayers. These are two major transitions for me in a short period of time, but when God opens the door, it’s time to go! (More info on Evangelizing)
I want to thank each of you who have helped me, supported me, and encouraged me on the way. I have been surrounded by wonderful people my entire life. I am so blessed! I want to especially thank my Pastor, Rev. Dan Cox, for giving me so many opportunities to ‘spread my wings’. I want to thank my parents, my brothers, and all of my extended family, you guys are my best friends, I love you! And I want to thank UPC of Warsaw, my church family, for loving me and letting me learn on you.
