Hello! Thanks for stopping by today. I am pressed for time as I am preparing a lesson for our mid-week service. In this service I plan to talk about prayer and share some tools that I have found useful in my prayer life. So I thought, “Why not share these tools on the blog?” These are just a few things that have been given to me or that I have found along the way. Maybe they will be useful to you as well.
1. Prayer Wheel/Clock (Classic): This is one that I have seen quite a bit. There are several versions of it. Below is one that I found at christianchallenge.us. An explanation of each section can be found here.
2. Another tool that I have found very useful is a little booklet called Spiritual Warfare: Prayer by Judy Doughty. This 58 page booklet is packed full of useful prayer tips, guides, and scriptures. It is specifically “a tool for expanded prayer times”. You will get a lot of use out of this resource. You can pick up a copy for $7.oo + shipping by following this link.
3. Praying Through the Pattern of the Tabernacle. This is such a powerful way to pray. Each part of the Tabernacle is a “shadow of heavenly things.” Each item in the Old Testament Tabernacle is a stop on our prayer journey. Many people have written about this and you can find several guides if you search for them on the Internet. My favorite one, which I use frequently, is produced by Bethel UPC (www.bethelupc.org). It is wonderfully formatted to be printed on one page and folded in half. You can download and print a copy for yourself here.
So there you are! Many times, it can be a real challenge to have an extended prayer time. Our minds tend to wander to what needs to get done or whatever we are worried at the time. When this happens, it is nice to have a good prayer tool to really focus our prayers. I hope you find one of these helpful.

I would love to hear about prayer tools that you use! Please leave a comment.
